Professional Biography
Linda lives on the unceded territory of the Arapaho and Cheyenne peoples in Littleton, Colorado, which inspires her deep relationship with the land. Her professions are a journey through the arts, human resources, and learning & organizational development, and into serving as a Colorado State Senator. There, Sen. Newell’s major policy areas were suicide prevention and behavioral health, child protection, restorative and criminal justice, and the creative industries. Now, with a Master's in Social Justice and Ethics from Iliff School of Theology and Clinical Pastoral Education training, she integrates all those careers into the praxis of living and working restoratively. As an independent consultant and coach, Linda specializes in conflict and organizational development and creating personal tools and systems of care for harm reduction and prevention. She is an Equity Labs facilitator, Adjunct Instructor at Iliff School of Theology, and guest lecturer at various colleges and conferences. Linda dedicates her life to projects that transform systems, communities, and hearts with a trauma-informed, socially just lens.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice moment of celebration
As a lifelong learner and over years of formal and informal education and internal interrogation of her levels of privilege, Linda continues to do her own anti-racist, anti-oppression work as she coaches others and consults. She feels especially honored to be engaged in the restorative relations work with the Iliff School of Theology and the Lenape Peoples over the “Iliff Book” and the past/current harms of the Christian religious practices to the Indigenous Peoples on this land.
